Ryan Lo wins fifth Meritorious Award (Individual)

⛵️🇸🇬 RYAN LO WINS FIFTH INDIVIDUAL MERITORIOUS AWARD Our two-time Olympian, Ryan Lo, collected his fifth Meritorious Award in the Individual category during the 2025 Singapore Sports Awards. Ryan previously won the award in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022. “I feel privileged to be still able to compete and represent Singapore at the international stage and honoured to be recognised by the Singapore sporting fraternity with this award,” said Ryan.

Isaac Goh wins second consecutive Meritorious Award (Sportsboy/Sportsgirl)

⛵️🇸🇬 BACK-TO-BACK MERITORIOUS AWARD FOR ISAAC GOH Congratulations to Isaac Goh for his second consecutive Meritorious Award in the Sportsboy category!  “I feel very honoured and happy that my hard work paid off and I managed to get this award,” said Isaac. “This award motivates me to go further and do more,” added the 18-year-old.

Max Maeder wins Sportsman of the Year

⛵️🇸🇬 MAX MAEDER WINS SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR Congratulations to Max Maeder for winning the Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 Singapore Sports Awards! Max is the first sailor to win the top men’s award since Siew Shaw Her in 1999. Shaw Her won gold in the men’s 420 class at the 1998 Asian Games.

Three medals clinched at the Pattaya International Championships

🏅Three medals clinched at the Pattaya International Championships 🏄🏻‍♂️🇸🇬 Our windsurfers brought home three medals from the Pattaya International Championships amidst challenging wind conditions. Angyal Chew clinched the gold medal in the iQFOIL Youth U19 Women class following three wins out of eight races. Her sister Angel Chew also got bronze in the iQFOIL Open Women class after winning her first race.

14-medal haul for our sailors at the 2025 ILCA Asians

🏅14 MEDALS FOR OUR SAILORS AT THE 2025 ILCA ASIANS ⛵️ Our sailors secured 15 medals at the 2025 ILCA Asian and Open Championships in Qinhuangdao, China. Building on last year’s performance, our ILCA 6 male sailors, Kenan Tan and Isaac Goh, continued their stellar track record with a 1-2 finish in all categories. In ILCA 4, our male sailors, Austin Yeo, Ian Goh, and Aurick Leow, kept their medal streak going from 2024, clinching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.

Singapore sailors clinch silver at 2025 Trofeo Marco Rizzotti Team Racing Championship

🇸🇬 SILVER AT THE TROFEO MARCO RIZZOTTI INTERNATIONAL ⛵️ Congratulations to our junior sailors who clinched second place out of 16 international teams at the 37th Trofeo Marco Rizzotti Team Racing Championship in Venice, Italy. Our sailors lost only two out of their 11 racing matches on their way to the silver medal. The opposing teams included Gold and Bronze medalists from the 2024 Optimist World Championships from Spain and Puerto Rico respectively.

Max Maeder completes comeback to defend European Open title

🏆 BACK-TO-BACK EUROPEAN OPEN CHAMPION ⛵️ Max Maeder completed a triumphant comeback, winning two consecutive races in the final series to defend his 2025 Formula Kite European Open Championship title. The victory was not easy. Max had crashed during the opening series, lost his tracker, and touched kites with Riccardo Pianosi in the finals. “I think it is a great experience to have strong competitors,” said Max during the live stream after his win.

Highest recorded finish for Singapore at 2025 ILCA 7 Worlds

🇸🇬 HIGHEST RECORDED FINISH AT MEN’S ILCA 7 WORLDS 🌊 Ryan Lo clinched Singapore’s highest-ever finish at the ILCA 7 Men's World Championships, coming in 14th after a tense six-day regatta. The two-time Olympian's nett score after five races was 24 points. Ryan finished fifth twice out of five races in a fleet of 138 sailors. The 2025 ILCA 6 Women's & ILCA 7 Men's World Championships started with three days of no wind and heavy fog on the fourth day, forcing sailors to return to shore.
