Singapore sailor Roy TAY Junhao, 23, has been chosen as flag-bearer of the 215-strong Singapore contingent for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 15th Asian Games in Doha from 1 to 15 December.
The 15th Asian Games would be Roy's third, he won a bronze medal at the 1998 Asian Games and finished fifth at the 2002 Asian Games.
"I'm very honoured to be given the chance to fly Singapore's flag at the Asian Games. I'm also surprised to be chosen as there are many suitable candidates from other sports whom I hold in high regard. I hope this would help bring increased attention to sailing. I look forward to represent Singapore at the upcoming Games and will do my very best." said Roy.
