Singapore, fielding three of the sailors who won silver at last year's IODA World Championships’ team racing event, were utterly invincible at the first major team racing event of 2008 winning all 22 of their matches. Belgium came in second followed by Italy in third place.

The second Singaporean team, made up of a group of younger sailors, finished in eighth position.

Eighteen teams from twelve nations participated including USA, Puerto Rico, Austria and Sweden.
