The day started off promising compared to the disappointment of yesterday. Light winds of 3-5 knots prevailed for the earlier part of the day but soon after lunchtime, the wind grew stronger to a respectable 7-8 knots.

The racing committee held four races for both the Byte-class and the Optimist-class. In the Byte class, the Thais showcased their sailing prowess by dominating the top positions. Keerati Bualong currently leads the fleet with 9 points, 2 points less than Singaporean sailors, Edmond Tam Han Wen (2nd) and Eugene Woo Chung Hon (3rd). Bualong is the 2007 Byte World Champion.  In the Optimist-class, sailors from the IODA Worlds Team are currently holding the top 3 positions. Luke Tan Yi Hao leads the fleet with 7 points followed by Russell Kan Tsung Liang who scored 8 points. Top-ranked Optimist sailor, Rachel Lee Qing is in third place with 11 points.

This is only the second day of the regatta hence the results could change drastically when the first discard is included in the scoring. However, top ranked sailors of the respective classes have got off on a good start and already on top of the fleet. Yet to stay up there, they have to remain vigilant for one bad race could cost them dearly.
