Most of the sailors would have expected that the morning would hold no races like the previous days but they were pleasantly surprised that fair winds of 7-8 knots allowed racing to start punctually.

The wind strength stayed constant throughout hence the racing committee was able to hold two races for the Optimists and three races for the Byte class. In the Optimist class, there was a change of the fleet leaders with Russell Kan Tsung Liang taking the helm with 11 points, Rachel Lee Qing hot on his heels with 14 points. A dark horse has emerged in the form of Noppakao Poonpat from Thailand who currently holds the third position with 22 points. The previous leader, Luke Tan Yi Hao has dropped to fifth position with 25 points. However, the results are not final and as most of the top sailors have five good races and one bad race. Day 5 would be the most crucial day when the discard is implemented and we would be able to see a huge rearrangement of the positions of the sailors.

In the Byte class, Keerati Bualong proved that his 2007 Byte Worlds Champion feat was no fluke. He has consolidated his lead with another 2 bullets but chalked up a discard race of 6th. His total points of 11 gives him a 5-point lead over Eugene Woo Chung Hon in second place.  Terence Choo Jian Jie is at third position with 17 points.

After the sailors were done with racing for the day, the overseas sailors visiting Singapore were given a real treat. Buses were deployed to pick up the sailors from National Sailing Centre to Sentosa where they climbed the Sky Tower and also watched the night fountain display, Songs of the Sea. Sentosa is the largest tourist attraction in Singapore and holds many places of interest such as the Underwater World, Siloso Beach and Merlion.

There was no racing conducted on day 4 due to very light winds. The Optimist sailors stayed ashore; the Byte sailors were launched but despite best attempts from the racing committee to conduct the race, the wind simply refused to comply. With day 4 ending with no races, we go into the final day of racing where the top few positions are not secured yet and anything can happen.
