29er Conversion Course by Coach Tan Jen-E

Objectives

1. Boat introduction

2. Boat rigging

3. Land drills for helm and crew on 29er/420 (Every sailor tries both)

4. Harness use

5. Trapezing: in and out, up and down

6. Safety for the crew

7. Mainsheet sail trim

8. Sail 29er/420 with spinnaker

9. Spinnaker – sail trim, hoist, and drop

10. Debrief each day

Pre-requisites 

• Minimum 4 sailors to start
• Maximum 8 sailors
• For ages 13–17 years old
• Minimum weight of 42kg
• Have at least raced in the Opti Silver fleet and above (ILCA 4 or ILCA 6) with minimum Level 1 proficiency
• No personal boat required
• No refund for any missed sessions
