⛵️CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SNSC CHAMPIONS 🇸🇬

The 2025 Singapore National Sailing Championships wrapped up on the final day with heavy rain and winds from the south to southwest.

Our sailors faced wind speeds that varied widely, ranging from 3 to 13 knots.
In the ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 categories, Ian Goh and Kenan Tan defended their respective titles. For Kenan, this meant that he has now qualified to represent Singapore at the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships.

“It feels amazing to have won the ILCA 6 title again this year,” said the 18-year-old.

“Overall, I was quite satisfied with my consistency throughout the regatta, but there were definitely some races that I should have performed better in,” added Kenan.

Overall, we had 267 sailors in the regatta. With our regatta’s high level of racing, many competitors flew in from countries like India, China, Hong Kong and Australia.

One such competitor is 11-year-old Navya Kaku, who came to Singapore from India for her first overseas iQFOiL regatta.

“I was so excited, I didn’t get any sleep the night we were going to Singapore,” said Navya.

“The launching area, the winds and the waters are amazing,” added Navya, who said that she had only been foiling for 15 days before the regatta.

There were also other firsts in the regatta. The Federation introduced the wingfoil class in the regatta for the first time this year, to the delight of 13-year-old Victoria Chew.

“I was very happy because I had a chance to compete in this event along with other sailors,” said Victoria, who started wingfoiling just earlier this year.

“It’s also very fun when you race with your friends. Wingfoiling to me is paradise, and I think everyone should try it out.”
