🥉 SINGAPORE CLINCHES U19 BRONZE IN TECHNO 293+ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 🇸🇬
Congratulations to Jonathan Chan for finishing third at the 2025 Techno 293Plus World Championships!
“I feel very proud to achieve bronze in U19, I’ve worked really hard with my coach for this event, and it paid off,” said Jonathan.
“I didn’t expect to podium in this event, but it’s a great surprise.”
Jonathan placed ninth overall in the open category and clinched bronze in the U19 category.
The 17-year-old put up a strong performance over the 15 races and even placed fourth in his final race.
This result also placed him as the second-best Southeast Asian sailor among the fleet, losing out only to Thailand’s Navin Singsart.
“This event has been an eye-opener and has stirred my determination as a windsurfer for the upcoming events,” said Jonathan.
“What I thought was nearly impossible was achieved, and I will only work harder from here onwards.”
Singapore also had two other sailors at the competition — Muhammad Razin and Axl Tan.
Here is the complete set of results:
T293 U17 Boys Class
Axl Tan: 32nd/56
T293+ Men Class
Jonathan Chan: 3rd/20 (U19), 9th/34 (Open Category)
Muhammad Razin: 15th/20 (U19), 25th /34 (Open Category)
